What Is the Best Time For Gorilla Tracking In Uganda?
Gorilla Tracking can best be done throughout the year though during the peak travel seasons the demand is high. During June to October, several people are travelling for holiday including gorilla tracking.
During March to May it is low season where few tourists travel and even other services are more subsidized.
In case you want special days for gorilla tracking like Christmas, new-year, Easter time, gifting someone, we advise you to book in advance so that you do not miss out on this special day. You need to book a gorilla permit for that special day at least 3 months upfront.
This is to avoid last minute panic as the number of gorilla permits released for tourist viewing is limited yet the demand is high.
Gorilla tracking in areas was started in 2014. Each gorilla tracking area has different interesting families. It may be the charming infant that make the group interesting, the restless juveniles, the protective silverback and much more. All these traits are not possessed by one family.
You may need to visit several families to sort out which one is most interesting but generally all gorilla families are interesting in there own way.
On the day of gorilla tracking, the trekkers are divided into groups of 8 to visit a gorilla family per day. In case you have particular interests, you need to request before the start of the gorilla trek. In case you want to visit a family with infants, you may request for this during the briefing.
