Detailed Itinerary of 14 Day Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari Itinerary
Day 1 Drive to Lake Mburo National Park and enjoy a game drive
Early morning, our driver guide picks you from your overnight accommodation to start the drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo National Park is at a distance of about 228 kilometers from Kampala or Entebbe taking about 3 hour and a half time to get there. Entry into Lake Mburo National Park is via two gates Sanga gate or Nsanga gate.
Lake Mburo National Park is the closest National Park to Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Many tours on the away to Uganda tourist destination in Western Uganda make a detour to this park. It is home to the biggest number of ungulates in Uganda including impalas, waterbucks, bushbucks, herds of elephants, elands, giraffe, Burchell’s Zebras, buffaloes and others. Carnivores may be spotted on rare occasions especially the leopards and lions.

Day 2 Game Drive and Boat trip on Lake Mburo
Rise up early for a game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, This park has a network of tracks you can use to explore its premises and locate the wild animals some include Zebra track, Impala track, Ruroko track and others.
During the game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, you may encounter animals including impalas, waterbucks, bushbucks, herds of elephants, elands, giraffe, Burchell’s Zebras, buffaloes and many others. Visit to the salt lick area around Rwonyo where a number of wild animals normally congregate to enjoy the salty natural soil in this spot. Drive to Kigambira Hill to enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Mburo.
Return to the lodge for a break and in the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo that starts from the jetty at the Lakeside camp close to Rwonyo. Look into Lake Mburo to spot a series of crocodiles and schools of hippos. A number of birds flock the shoreline of this lake including pelicans, cormorants, fish eagles, rare shoebill stork and others.

Day 3 Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the scenic environment situated along the way especially the mountainous Kigezi sub region. The evergreen valleys with streams of rivers that cut through.
Bwindi impenetrable National Park is a tropical rain forest situated in southwestern part of Uganda and a biosphere reserve. Local the word Bwindi means impenetrable which fits right with the physical appearance of this park. In terms of fauna, Bwindi forest is home to over 10 primate species including mountain gorillas, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, more than 200 tree species and others. More than 350 bird species have been registered as residents of Bwindi forest including Albertine rift endemics.
Because of the vast size of Bwindi forest, it was divided into four areas for better administrative purposes including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo. The Gorilla trekking permits for Bwindi are booked according to these areas.

Day 4 Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up for breakfast and head to the ranger station for briefing. Donot forget to carry packed lunch because your return time after gorilla trekking is unpredictable. In case you need a porter, you can hire one to assist you carry your backpack.
After allocating you a gorilla family, follow the ranger guide with other tourists. On the way, you my spot other primates including black and white colobus, blue monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest and others. A plethora of birds are present and a keen birded may identify over 100 bird species especially in the Ruhija Gorilla trekking area of Bwindi forest.
Finally, when you find the mountain gorillas one hour is allowed with them because they have been habituated to be in the presence of humans for just that time. While following the rules of gorilla trekking, use the one hour permitted with the gorillas to the best of your interests.
Get back to your lodge carrying only the memories of your moments with the mountain gorillas and other forest dwellers you encounter.
Day 5 Day 5 Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Rise up for breakfast and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The distance to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is about 64 kilometers via Ishasha sector in the southern part of the park. The distance from Bwindi to Queen National Park the Mweya area is 106 kilometers.
Passing via Ishasha sector as you get into Queen Elizabeth National Park may be the chance to spot the tree climbing lions that normally spend time in the fig trees in this area. Visit the Edward flats where a number of birds and animals love spending time especially those that love wallowing it the mud like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs and others.

Day 6 Game Drive and launch trip in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning, drive into the park via a network of tracks that are situated in the park. By using the Kasenyi track, you may get the chance to spot lions that sneak in this area waiting to prey on the Uganda kobs that are common to this open plain part of the park.
Take the North Kazinga area which is the prime game viewing area of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you may get chance to spot herds of Elephants, herds of buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, giant forest hogs, and others. The park also hosts more than 602 bird species and some of them may be sighted as you drive through the tracks of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Get back to the lodge to relax then in the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing launch trip on Kazinga channel which is a two to three hours return trip. Look over to the shores where large numbers of birds congregate to enjoy the freebies of this channel and take a bath. Several visiting wild animals are often seen by the channel side and schools of hippos and crocodiles are permanent suspects in the Kazinga channel.

Day 7 Game Drive And Nature walk in Maramagambo forest in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Get up early for another game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park driving via the tracks you may have missed the previous day and identify the animals too that you encounter. Have a break later in the day.
Take a nature walk in Maramagambo forest, which is one of the natural forests that still exist in Uganda. On the way, you may spot black and white colobus, vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey and others. Enjoy the blue copper lake, the beautiful scenery on the floor of the rift valley and so much more
Visit the famous Bat cave where a huge colony of birds roost facing upside down.
Day 8 Drive to Kibale National Park
Get up early for breakfast and drive to Kibale National Park. The drive time from Queens Elizabeth National Park to Kibale National Park is about 1 hour.
Kibale National Park is the prime primate habitat in Uganda hosting the largest population of chimpanzees in the country. At the moment, about 1500 chimpanzees out of the 5000 chimpanzees in Uganda are residents of Kibale forest and 12 chimpanzee communities have so far been fully habituated. Other 12 primate species have been confirmed as residents of Kibale forest including black and white colobus, blue monkeys, bush babies, pottos, red tailed monkeys and many others.
More than 325 bird species have been confirmed as residents of Kibale National Park including Albertine rift endemics. Some of the possible birds that can be seen in Kibale National Park include collared Apalis, African pittas, yellow spotted nicators, black eared ground thrush, Abyssinia ground thrush, black bee eater, green breasted pitta and many others.

Day 9 Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park
After breakfast, head to the ranger station for briefing before embarking on a search for the chimpanzees. Follow the track constructed by regular visitors to Kibale National Park to find the chimpanzees. On the way, you may spot other forest dwellers including olive baboons, blue monkeys, black and white colobus and others.
Finally when you find the chimpanzees, one hour is allowed with them but you need to utilize it to the best of your interests by taking photos, watching them enjoy there time, feed, groom, cuddle and so much more.

Day 10 Drive To Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast drive to Murchison Falls National Park. This is quite a long drive as you go through the oil city in western Uganda and other interesting sceneries enroute.
Murchison Falls National Park is bisected by River Nile forming the North and southern section of the Park. The Paraa area is the main administrative part of Murchison Falls National Park. This park gets its name from Murchison Falls which is the most interesting part and the strongest part of the entire Nile course. Before forming the Murchison Falls, River Nile staggers over a bed of rocks for 80 kilometers then pushes its way through the 6 meters wide gorge to vigorously burst out and form a cloudy appearance.
The River Nile is the lifeblood of Murchison Falls National Park where most animals in the park find there way to its showers to quench thirst or take a bath to cool off the day’s heat. A number of birds also converge on the banks of river Nile to enjoy the freebies along the shores.

Day 11 Game drive and launch Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park
Wake up early for breakfast and enjoy a game drive in the southern part of Murchison Falls National Park. By using the Buligi trail, you may get the chance to spot animals including giraffes, herds of buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, hartebeests, lions, leopards, warthogs and several others.
Enjoy the launch trip to Murchison Falls where River Nile squeezes its way through the 6 meters wide gorge to cascade down the 43 meters high cliff and continue with its course. On the way, you may spot the hippos, crocodiles and several other inhabitants of the River Nile. Day 12 Game Drive and Hike to the Top of the Falls Murchison Falls National Park
Get up for another game drive in Murchison Falls National Park where you may spot other dwellers that you may have missed the previous day. Take as may photos as you can to keep as memories for the Uganda Safari in Murchison Falls National Park.
Hike to the top of the falls where the River Nile drama happens as River Nile staggers through the narrow bend to push out vigorously before cascading down the rift valley cliff. Get back to your lodge to relax.
Day 13 Drive to Jinja and visit the source of River Nile
After breakfast, drive to Jinja and visit the source of River Nile where its waters dramatically separate from the its source on Lake Victoria. Sail using a boat to this point before driving to your lodge where you will rest.
