DAY 1 – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Rise up early in the morning for breakfast then start on the journey to Bwindi Forest. The drive may take about 8 to 9 hours. The sweetness of this journey starts as you drive through the amazing countryside, feel the change is in air freshness and cool breeze from the swamps. Spot some wonderful scenery such as incredible rivers, highlands, funny rock shapes, meandering rivers on the valley of highlands and so much more enroute.
This prehistoric Bwindi Forest National park is an ancient forest situated in southwestern part of Uganda. It has a breathtaking canopy rare to find as several natural forest have been destroyed. Bwindi Forest is a primate haven and home to giant Mountain gorillas which are some of the few survivors of the ice age period. Breakoff for lunch enroute but later get back on the road driving through meandering hills of Kisoro. Arrive late in the evening and enjoy your dinner and overnight at:

DAY 2 – Gorilla Tracking Day
When done with early morning breakfast, move to the ranger station for briefing. Pack light the relevant gorilla tracking gears including packed lunch, sound proof camera, drinking water, energy bites the list is endless. For the safety of your skin, dress up in long trousers because there are stinging nettles in the forest. Gather with other trekkers for briefing at the ranger station by the Uganda wildlife Authority ranger guide. In the company of a ranger guide, walk into the forest to begin the jungle game of searching for the gigantic brown eyed mountain gorillas.
Since the mountain gorillas are mobile and freely living in the wilderness, the time you take to find these apes is unknown. This trek is awesome as you may encounter other primates like olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey tailed mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys.
Sometimes you may get back to the lodge early and not over fatigued so in this case you have an option of visiting the Batwa pygmy community probably. They lived a unique life with the mountain gorilla with whom they shared a home until 1993 when they were evicted from the forest. The pygmies literally depended on Bwindi forest for survival. Most of there life needs were provided by Bwindi forest like food, medicines, homes, body cover-ups, fun, till the early 90s when conservation of the mountain gorilla habitat by the government became reason to relocate them. In order to remind the young generation of their history, they demonstrate there past way of life to there visitors by telling amazing stories and unique traditional performances. Get back to your lodge ready to relax and cool off fatigue.

DAY 3 – Back Home After Gorilla Tracking

How Long Is Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Gorilla trekking may take 2 hour or more depending on the factors prevailing in the forest. From the starting point of the gorilla trek, about 30 minutes or more to find the mountain gorillas. Some gorilla families are adventurous so you may have to move for sometime to find them.
