Based on your travel budget, you are encouraged to select the most appropriate package. The constant factor in each package is the gorilla permit which sales for $700 per person in Uganda.
Other factors that make up the cost like the safari vehicle to use, accommodation facility to stay at while on safari, number of people to travel with and so much more bring about the difference in price.
Accommodation while on Gorilla Tracking Safari
You may decide to stay at one type of accommodation throughout your safari or opt to mix up the accommodation facilities. An example may be stay one night in a luxury accommodation facility and another night in the mid-range facility.
This would save some money although quite disturbing as you have to pack and unpack your baggage.
You may also decide to spend your nights in single rooms based on Deluxe, Suite or Ordinary. Most accommodations also offer double rooms or Twin rooms.
To be safe, you are advised to book accommodation with in or closer to the area where you gorilla permit was booked. This will help you to save time early in the morning as you head to the briefing point.
Since Bwindi has two sections that is the Northern Bwindi and the Southern Bwindi, each section has gorilla tracking areas. You need to spend the night before gorilla tracking in the area where your gorilla permit was booked.
This is to avoid driving in a rush early in the morning to get to the ranger guide station for briefing. A lot of risks like finding fallen logs in the road, bumping into ditches, car over turning may happen as you rush.
Number of people to share with your gorilla tracking safari
Sharing the travel expense with other travelers would make it more price friendly and enjoyable. You can however also travel solo and pay for all the components of the safari package.
Travelling with others doesn’t guarantee that you will all track the same gorilla family. This is because gorilla tracking is booked according to areas. After briefing tourists are randomly divided amongst the number of gorilla tracking families in this area.
Some factors however may be considered like the age of some tourists as those that are of old age may be given a less challenging family to track.
Only 8 tourists are given chance to track each gorilla family per day. In case you have travelled with others and you wish to track one family, you may request for this from the ranger guide before briefing. It is not guarantee that it will be done according to your request.
Gorilla tracking is an all year round experience although it has peak season and low seasons.
During the peak gorilla trekking seasons that is to say June to October and December to February, the demand for travel is so high prompting an increment in prices for most packages.
The low gorilla tracking seasons that is to say March to May and November may have less competition for facilities at the gorilla tracking pack. This also prompts the service providers to offer friendlier price to match the season.
All gorilla families provide there own unique experience to there visitors. Some may have charming juveniles, adorable infants, protective silverback and so much more.
In order to distinguish which family is the best, you may need to have more than one gorilla tracking day.
What Other Wildlife To See During Gorilla tracking Safari
Base on the time schedule of your holiday, you may also combine a wildlife experience in a close by Game Park.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the closest game park to Bwindi and it takes about 5 hours to get there. This park is endowed with amazing scenery like the rolling Rwenzori Ranges, lots of wild game like lions, leopards, elephants, water bucks, bush bucks, elands, Uganda Kobs, herds of cape buffaloes, Wildebeests, rich bird life and so much more.
You have an opportunity to enjoy all these during your safari in case your itinerary is put together in a more organized way.

Visit the chimpanzees In Kibale National Park
Kibale is home to the chimpanzees which are the closest relatives of humans. They have about 98% genes similar to those of humans.
From Bwindi forest Park, the road trip last about 6 hours. As you move into the park, you get to enjoy the lavish forest cover and rich bird life that the park hosts.
Lots of other primates are residents of this park like the Black and white colobus, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, bush babies and so much more.
Chimpanzees tracking starts in the morning with briefing and then follow the trail taken by the chimpanzees till you locate them.
When you finally meet them, you have one precious hour watching them eat, play, groom there infants and so much more wild activity.
Visit Murchison Falls National park
Feel the power of River Nile by visiting the Murchison Falls where the river squeezes through a narrow gorge. It later bursts out vigorously to form a cloudy appearance felt when you get closer to the falls is mind blowing.
The early morning game drives in this park are interesting to watch as you have the chance of seeing some of the most interesting wildlife. You may get the chance of seeing lions, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, cape buffaloes and so much more.
