During the 5 day Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee safari you have a fantastic safari time in Uganda getting you closer to the Mountain gorillas and there cousins the chimpanzees. For an extra ordinary Africa experience, its is best to do gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest National park. This tropical forest is home to a number of families so far about 8 gorilla groups are open for trekking out of the 10 families that Uganda prides of. During this gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking safari, you will have 5 days on your tour.

DAY 1 – Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary Visit

Rise up early in the morning for a cup of coffee and head to the pier for a cruise to Ngamba Island. This is the closet chimpanzee sanctuary where orphaned, rescued and abandoned chimpanzees are given a new home since they cannot return to there original families. Participate in feeding them at the platform and in case you passed through immunization procedures, enjoy a hand in hand walk with the chimpanzees. Return to the land and visit the Uganda wildlife education center where a number almost all wild animals in Uganda are kept in exhibits. Enjoy a guided walk in UWEC and return to your lodge and relax.

DAY 2 – Drive to Bwindi National Park

Rise up early in the morning and your drive guide will drive you through the rolling hill as of Kigezi but enroute you will enjoy a stop over at the equator where you will perform the water experiment. Enjoy a fantastic drive where you may have the chance of seeing meandering rivers, primates, birds, valleys and several others. Arrive late in the evening ready for dinner and over night

DAY 3 – Gorilla trekking In Bwindi National park.

Get up early 7 in the morning for breakfast and carrying your parked lunch, head to the ranger station for briefing. In the company of your ranger guide, walk into the forest to search for the gorillas. On the way, you may have the chance of meeting other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons to mention but a few. The time you may take to see the gorillas is unpredictable because of there unpredictable movements and proximity of there food. When you finally meet them, take there photographs and after an hour, return to the lodge for dinner and over night.

DAY 4 – Drive to Lake Mburo National Park/ Boat ride

Get up early in the morning for breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National park. This park is the only one where you can see animals like Zebras, impalas and several others. Boat ride on Lake Mburo where you may have the chance of enjoying aquatic life like schools of hippos, crocodiles, rich avian life , colorful butterflies to mention but a few

DAY 5 – Game drive and return home

Enjoy a game drive early in the morning where you may have a chance of seeing Impalas, water bucks, bush bucks, zebras to mention but a few and drive to Entebbe airport to catch up with your home bound flight.

Note this As you book a gorilla trekking safari In Uganda

A waterproofed backpack is vital for your camera because it may rain at any time without warning, water bottle to quench your thirst as you trek to see the mountain gorillas and snacks.

If not sure of your fitness, you may hire a porter for a small fee to carry your backpack and help you up the steeper slopes.

As you plan your gorilla tracking tour, ensure you contact your travel insurance about whether they cover your gorilla trekking permit because you may be required to pay an additional premium.
