DAY 2 – Gorilla Tracking
Rise up for breakfast and carrying your gorilla tracking gears, head to the ranger station for briefing. Remember to carry at least a litre of water to quench your thirst. Gorilla tracking requires some bit of fitness because to get to the gorillas, you climb some hills. During gorilla trekking, you may ask questions to your ranger about the gorillas and Wildlife. However this must be addressed at a fairly low tone because the gorillas normally notice your presence before you do find them. As you get closer to the gorillas, the ranger guide will warn you to lower your voices so that he can watch the mood of the gorillas. They are normally serene animals but when agitated, they loose there patience and rage. Wait to take pictures until told to do so. You have just one precious hour with them so you need to utilise it profitably. Later walk back to your lodge carrying only memories of your safari.
DAY 3 – Drive back to Entebbe.
Having seen the gorillas, drive back to Entebbe. You will get to see the amazing scenery that you might have missed on the first day when you flew. Features like the rivers, amazing crater lakes, forests, the equator, huge plantations, birds, animals and so much more. The drive is quite long but enjoy the scenery that you drive through. Arrive in the evening and relax.
DAY 4 – Sail To Ngamba chimpanzee Sanctuary.
After breakfast, get to the pier for briefing and head to Ngamba Island. This is the closet chimpanzee rescue sanctuary to Entebbe airport. As you cruise, enjoy the view of Lake Victoria’s surrounding especially the punctuated Islands. Ngamba Island is home to orphaned, rescued chimpanzees that cannot be incorporated into the forest communities any more. Get to the feeding platform and participate in the feeding of the chimpanzees. Watch them as they feed from the platform. In case you wish to take a hand in hand walk with the chimpanzees, you have to request for this activity upfront. Later return to the land to catch up with your home bound flight.
