DAY 2 – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Rise up early in the morning for breakfast and your driver guide will be ready to drive you to Bwindi national park. The word Bwindi is a local word meaning impenetrable and indeed this is apt for this park.

The drive may take about 8 to 10 hours depending on the weather conditions. On the way, enjoy the scenic view of the rolling hills of Kigezi. Choosing where to stay while in this park is dependent on the area where your gorilla trekking card has been booked.

You need to have reserved your overnight accommodation just before you start your journey to Bwindi forest National Park because depending on the season, at times lodges are over booked during certain periods of the year especially the peak times. Arrive late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – Gorilla trekking

Early morning, carry your gorilla tracking items and head to the ranger station for briefing. It is advisable to book a porter at a small fee to assist you incase you have difficulty on the way.

In the company of your guide, walk through thick creepers and covered with your garden gloves, push away the close by undergrowth as you search for the famous Mountain Gorillas. Follow the trails that were formulated by the regular visitors to the park manoeuvring the incredibly dense forest.

The gorillas will notice your presence before you do. While in there presence, watch them, take there photos and after an hour, Return to the lodge and relax.

DAY 4 – Drive to Volcanoes National park Rwanda

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and your safari guide will drive you to Rwanda. The drive is between 5 to 6 hours but you will not get bored because of the scenic spots like the undulating hills of Kisoro, the local farms, primates and so much more. Arrive ready to check in into your lodge.

DAY 5 – Gorilla Trekking

Get up early in the morning for breakfast and head to the ranger station for briefing. Gorilla trekking is a very interesting activity so meeting the gorillas twice is one of the incredible Africa adventurous on a safari The ranger guide will accompany you to the forest and you begin searching for the gorillas.

You will first walk through the area where the gorillas were last seen the previous day. When you meet the gorillas, stand at a distance of about 7 meters away from them and take there pictures. You are permitted just one hour with them after wards, carry on to your lodge and relax.

DAY 6 – Golden Monkey Trekking/ Dian Fossey walk

Having enjoyed the gorilla trek, get up early and either take part in the golden monkey walk or Diane Fossey grave walk.

During either of the two, you will meet other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, birds are in plenty.

DAY 7 – Kigali City and Return

Drive to Kigali for a city tour where you may have the chance of visiting the Rwanda Genocide memorial, Rwanda Museum, genocide victim recollections home to mention but a few. Drive to Kigali airport for you late evening flight.
