Fly-in gorilla trekking tours involve taking a flight form Entebbe airstrip and fly for just 1 hour and 30 minutes. Later, you are transferred from Kihihi airstrip to your lodge where you can rest or enjoy other activities in Bwindi Foest that you might not have booked yet they are fantastic to participate in like the visit to the Batwa pygimies, Bwindi hospital visit and so much more.

Itinerary

DAY 1 – Fly to Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast, your guide driver will be ready to transfer you to Entebbe to catch up with your flight to Kihihi Airstrip. You will be transferred to Bwindi Forest National Park where you will check into your lodge.

Since this flight is about 1hour and 30 minutes, you may decide to rest before your gorilla trekking experience or take part in activities like Batwa community walk, nature walks, Bwindi Hospital visit and so much more.

DAY 2 – Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Forest

Having taken your breakfast, move to the ranger station for briefing. You will be advised on the pro and cons of gorilla tracking like donot dump garbage in the forest, keep your voices low as you trek to see the gorillas, in case you wish to ease yourself you must ask the ranger guide.

Move into the forest and search but remember the time to take to find the gorillas cannot be confirmed and its dependent on the movement of the gorillas as you trek to the spot where they were last seen the previous day.

You may meet other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, red tailed monkeys and a number of birds that roam in the forest.

When you finally get to see the gorillas, stay with them for just one hour taking there photographs and watching them as they play from the vines. Return to the lodge and relax

DAY 3 – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Rise up early in the morning for breakfast and your ranger guide will pick you from your overnight lodge. You will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive. In case the road is clear, you will be driven through Ishasha sector home to the tree climbing lion.

You may have the chance of seeing animals like leopard, lions, hyenas, water bucks, warthogs, Uganda Kobs and so many others. Check in to Your Lodge and Relax.

DAY 4 – Launch Cruise And Game Drive

Get up early in the morning for a game drive in the Northern crater sector of the park. Enjoy the view of the wet and dry craters. You may have the chance of seeing animals like lions, leopards, buffaloes, herds of Elephants and so many others.

Return to the lodge for late day breakfast and lunch. After lunch, head to the pier for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel. This is like the congregation of most animals where they quench there thirst. School of hippopotamus, crocodiles, a number of birds congregate at the shores of the Kazinga channel.

DAY 5 – Fly to Entebbe

After breakfast drive to Kihihi Airstrip to catch up with your home bound flight. Carry only memories of your gorilla tracking safari.

A waterproofed backpack is vital for your camera because it may rain at any time without warning, water bottle to quench your thirst as you trek to see the mountain gorillas and snacks.

If not sure of your fitness, you may hire a porter for a small fee to carry your backpack and help you up the steeper slopes.
