Gorilla trekking in Uganda or Rwanda necessitates having a gorilla permit which is currently sold at $ 700 in Uganda and $1500 in Rwanda. In case you have failed to track gorillas for any reason, the Uganda Wildlife Authority may base on the rules and policies set.  UWA reserves all the rights to refund the client or not according to its policy. However this doesn’t guarantee that the cancellation will be acknowledged all the time. Some of the highlights of this policy are

Through the Reservation office headquarter in Kampala, Uganda Wildlife Authority may cancel a gorilla trekking permit based on the below percentages.

0-8 days o the tracking date no refund

9-45 days to the tracking date 75% (refund 25% to the client)

46-91 days to the tracking date 50% (refund 50% the client)

All cancellation to be made must be done in writing including the date when the gorilla permit was bought, receipt number and the date when the cancellation was made.

Gorilla trekking reservation booking, Guidelines and Procedures

Booking all gorilla permits and reservation is through Uganda Wildlife Authority and all permits are sold at first come first serve basis.

Only 8 gorilla trekking permits are sold for each day and in each family for conservation reasons.

All gorilla permits are sold at the prevailing face value.

Gorilla permits are sold to all kinds of people that s to say Non resident foreigner, foreign residents and East African citizens

Payment for gorilla permits is cash, bank cheque and Wire transfers
