Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The largest gorilla trekking habitant of Uganda is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with its lush ever green cover and dense canopy. More than 20 gorilla trekking families in Bwindi forest are open to the public but these live in four areas into which the park is divided that is Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo.
When booking gorilla trekking permits for Bwindi, they are reserved according to the four areas. It is recommended to first check the area of Bwindi where your gorilla permit is booked before securing accommodation.
More than 350 bird species are confirmed as residents of Bwindi forest including Albertine rift endemics, 88 month species, over 200 natural tree species and more.
Mgahinga National Park
Mgahinga National Park is home to so far one gorilla trekking family called Nyakagezi. Its topography influences the physical outlook of Mgahinga National Park with highlands such as Mountain Gahinga, Muhavura and Sabyinyo towering over the park.
When on a gorilla trek in Mgahinga National Park you may come across other primates such as golden monkeys, black and white colobus, vervet monkeys, grey checked mangabey and more. More than 115 bird species are recorded as residents of Mgahinga Forest.
