Locally Sabyinyo means ‘old Man’s teeth and this resulted from the weathered part of the mountain that created a ring of stubby peaks

Mountain Muhavura may seem the highest but worth the day’s hike taking about 8 hours to ascend and descend. Muhavura locally means the guide as its pointed corner is a momentous.
Its top is capped by small crate lake but offers fantastic panoramas and lovely alpine vegetation. Taking the Muhavura trail exposes you to great dramatic views of other Virunga volcanoes, rift valley floor, Lake Edward and Rwenzori mountains. Hiking Muhavura Mountains takes 12 km for about 8 hours to and fro.
Mountain Gahinga locally means small piles of stone resulted from stones that would roll into local people’s farms and cover there crops. You walk through the bamboo forest to the swamp within the crater summit. This hike takes about 6 hours.
Winding and unwinding on the memories of a gorilla trekking experience while water rafting is the best addition activity on a Uganda safari. Even if you have no experience in white water rafting, expert guides are on ground to take you through this wild but fantastic experience on River Nile.
The Itanda falls on River Nile are the main White water rafting points with varying levels of tides. You need to book a slot for your white water rafting experience. Kayaks and tubes are available for any one not comfortable with going through heavy tide on the River Nile. It can be another great activity to do with family on the River Nile.

A sleeveless top just in case it gets cold in the parks especially during the game drives when you do not need to step out to participate in any activity in the park.
A pair of flip flops to wear while in the safari vehicle so that you relax and enjoy the park goodies from your window seat or pop up roof.
Insect repellant to wear when in the field as some insects my fly and sting your skin.

Best time for booking Uganda safari depends on one’s holiday time frame. All year round Uganda is open for tourism but the Peak time of June To September. In Rwanda, discounted gorilla trekking permits are sometimes offered during shoulder season that is March to May and November but terms and conditions apply.

Uganda National parks are safe for tourists visit. The Uganda Wildlife Authority with the Tourism police are responsible for keep law and order in these conservation area. No tourist is allowed to go in the park especially for a walk like gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, nature walk without an escorting ranger guide.

White water rafting is family time so adults must escort the children to do it. Kayaks on river Nile are open for atleast age 5years and above.
Birding in Uganda is open for any keen birding family but parents must be part of the adventure.
