Gorilla Trekking Scheduled Safaris

Gorilla safaris in Uganda and Rwanda can also be packaged into Set departures and group tours at a cheaper price. We set dates for such gorilla tours to Bwindi Impenetrable National park in Uganda and Virunga National Park in Rwanda.

Note:

• Children below 16 years are not accepted on set departures
• Each scheduled departure must have at least a minimum of 2 persons and a maximum of 6 persons

Gorilla or chimpanzee permit booking on a scheduled tour

We pre-purchase gorilla permits for such set depart and upon confirmation and payment, we reserve the permit for you. In Uganda a gorilla tracking permit card is bought at $ 600 and in Rwanda at $ 1500 as of now. Gorilla permits are on first come first serve basis at the Uganda Wildlife Authority and that applies to our pre-purchased permit cards. In case you are interested in joining and sharing the gorilla safari with others, you need to contact our Tours consult in advance.

Some of our set gorilla tracking safaris include chimpanzee tracking and like the gorilla permit, we pre-purchase chimpanzee permits and are on first come first serve basis. As of now Kibale chimpanzee permits are sold at $150per permit and Kyambura Gorge chimp permits at $ 50 per permit

What is included in a Scheduled gorilla tracking package?

Accommodation while on the gorilla tracking trip

We book accommodation in the same lodge for all the people on the group gorilla safari tour in shared rooms. In case you wish to stay in a single supplement, you have to pay an additional fee. Each accommodation is tentatively booked in advance and most lodge cancel booking at least 3 months to the booked date so we need to confirm these rooms at least 3 months to the date of travel. For this reason, you need to make payments within this period to assist us confirm a room or bed for you.

Accommodation while on your gorilla tracking safari or wildlife viewing tour is on Full board and in Kampala or Entebbe accommodation is on Bed and Breakfast but you can request us to book your dinner or lunch.

Transport in a 4×4 Wheel vehicle to the gorilla trek safari destination

Transport is in a 4×4 wheel vehicle and this includes an English speaking driver guide, fuel and 2 free drinking water bottles each en route. Each one has a window seat too so as to enjoy a clear view.

Park Fees

In case the scheduled safari includes a game drive after or before your gorilla tracking safari we include park fees in the package. These are paid prior to entering the park and they are paid per day per person entering or staying in the park.

Air port transfers on the day of arrival for your gorilla safari

Our set scheduled gorilla safaris have starting dates when we expect clients to arrive. We organise airport pick ups for all our clients but if you are arriving prior to the tour, you have to advise us in advance. We do airport drop-offs on only the date at the end of your safari

Boat cruise

For Scheduled gorilla and wildlife safaris, we book a scheduled boat for all our clients. But this is a times shared with other people. This is On Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park or Murchison Falls National park

Excursion To Ngamba Island or Uganda Wildlife Education Center before or after gorilla tracking

Before your gorilla tracking safari or after your gorilla trek we book an excursion to Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary Island where you take part in the feeding and viewing the chimpanzees. At times the animals stray so the island is blocked off from visitors and the other option will be a visit to UWEC. This is the former zoo but at the moment, the animals live freely in exhibits
