The easiest gorilla family or the most difficult gorilla family to trek is not that easy to identify because this is dependent on the behavior of the mountain gorillas. When the gorilla family is in good spirits, it may be charming and very eye captivating to watch but when the family is undergoing tough times like having been attacked by another gorilla family, loss of its leadership, lack of enough food and so much more, it may be quite difficult to trek. For this such reasons, the mountain gorillas may hide, become aggressive or even chase away there visitors. These are also some of the reasons why you need to wait for the ranger guide to give you a go ahead before you take photographs.
Despite the fact that mountain gorilla faces look quite scary and rough, have a thick black furred coat that covers there bodies from the head to the toes, they are renowned for being serene. They are generally vegetarian and with bamboo as there favorite delicacy. They also eat fruits, vegetables, ants, soft tree stems and other foliage. They don’t feed on meat so as humans there is no reason for getting scared.
Although Bwindi forest is also home to the chimpanzees, they are not habituated for trekking. They live deep in the forest and are rarely seen roaming in the forest. However other apes like the black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey checked mangabey, l’heost may be seen enchanting from the tree branches.
