Following the Standard Operational Procedures (S.O.Ps) is the new normal for all activities and gorilla trekking is no exceptional. This is because the gorillas have about 96% human genes which makes them susceptible to human infections.
Gorilla permits are sold per day per person per trek but you can buy for as many days as you wish to be with the gorillas so long as there is availability.

In Uganda the cost of a gorilla trekking permit is $700 per person per trek. In Rwanda the price for a gorilla trekking permit is $1500 per person per trek. This money facilitates mountain gorilla conservation work in Bwindi forest and Volcanoes National park.
This prices also includes park entrance fees, salary for the ranger guides, medical facilitation for the gorilla Doctors, 10% per year is given back to the local community to encourage them to participate in protecting the mountain gorillas.
Gorilla trekking is a highland activity which requires some level of fitness but this doesn’t mean that those that do not workout cannot do gorilla trekking. The ranger guide moves at the pace of the slowest trek and everyone is taken care of.
On the way, a walking stick is provided to all trekkers to give you extra support in case of steep slopes and very muddy ground.

Day 1 Drive To Bwindi National park in Uganda or Volcanoes National Park In Rwanda.

Day 2 Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest or Volcanoes National Park
