The misty Bwindi forest is the home of the few leftover mountain gorillas in the world with about half the population living in this forest. To help gorillas get used to human presence, gorilla habituation process with the help of researchers is conducted for sometime until proved ready to partially be around humans.

Day 1 Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 2 Game Drive and Launch trip in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning, get on the game drive through the tracks of Queen Elizabeth National Park to enjoy a variety of wild animals as they emerge from night hideouts to start the day. Taking the Kasenyi track may open more chances to spotting lions that prey on a number of herbivores that are regular visitors of this grassland area.

Bwindi forest which locally means impenetrable is indeed rightfully named according to its outlook. The dense canopy of Bwindi forest beautifully stands providing an amazing scenery.

As you get closer to Bwindi forest, you notice a sudden change in altitude and a drop in temperatures.

Day 4 Gorilla habituation Experience in Bwindi

Rise up early for breakfast and transfer to the ranger station for briefing where the most recent information about the mountain gorillas is communicated and any other necessary information.

The ranger guide, researchers and tourists allocated to gorilla habituation experience follow the path where the gorilla family was last seen the previous day. Mountain gorillas sometimes change their location depending on factors prevailing in the jungle.

Hold on in case you take some time to find the mountain gorillas but look out for other forest dwellers that are surviving in the jungle.

Finally, when you find the mountain gorillas, four hours are allowed around them which you can utilize to the best of your interests. Carry nothing and leave nothing in the jungle as this is the home of the mountain gorillas and it is where they thrive.
