Serengeti National Park covers an area of about 14763 square kilometers northern Tanzania.  As a National Park in Tanzania, Serengeti National Park was established in 1940. The park is situated in North eastern Simiyu region and eastern Mara region. Serengeti National Park is under the management of Tanzania National Park Authority

Because of the vast size of Serengeti National Park, it is divided into four areas that is western region, Central region (Seronera), Northern region and southern region.
