Gorilla trekking in Uganda

At the moment, Uganda has 152 gorilla trekking permits open to public booking per day. In the peak season, you need to secure the gorilla permits upfront to avoid last minute disappointment. Bwindi impenetrable national Park permits are booked according to area that is Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo area. You must take note of the area where your gorilla permit is booked for Bwindi so that you do not appear for briefing at the wrong spot.
Currently the cost of Uganda gorilla trekking permits is $700 for foreign nonresidents, $600 for foreign residents and 250000shs for East African residents. Only one hour is allowed with the mountain gorillas during gorilla trekking
Gorilla Habituation Experience
During gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, tourists escort a team of researcher and trackers to find a semi-habituated gorilla family and stay with them for four hours. During the gorilla habituation adventure, the mountain gorillas still possess there natural traits so you may witness some odd behaviors like hooting hysterically, going into hiding and so much more.
Uganda currently has two gorilla families open for gorilla habituation experience and these are in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Maximum 4 people are allowed to do gorilla habituation experience per family that means 8 gorilla permits are open for this activity.
The cost of gorilla permits for habituation experience is $1500 per person per trek for foreign nonresidents, $1000 for foreign residents and 750000shs for East African residents.
Chimpanzee safaris in Uganda
You can do chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda from a variety of destinations that is Kibale National Park, Kyambura gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kaniyo Pabidi forest in Murchison falls National park, Kalinzu forest at the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth National Park and others.
Chimpanzee trekking is an adventure where tourists follow a fully habituated gorilla family in the wilderness and stay with them for just one hour. The time is limited to just one hour of viewership for conservation reasons and the longer people stay with the chimpanzees they may trample the foliage on which chimpanzees feed.
Each day two chimpanzee trekking sessions happen that is early morning and afternoon but maximum 6 tourists ae allowed to visit each chimpanzee troop per session.
Chimpanzee habituation experience is also conducted in Uganda where tourists have extra time with the chimpanzees that is four hours. During chimpanzee habituation experience, tourists escort a team of trackers in the wilderness and they follow a semi-habituated chimpanzee community. Maximum four tourists are allowed to escort these tourists.

Game safaris in Uganda
While on Uganda safari, you cannot miss out the game drives in the various National Parks in the country. The existence of the various animals in these parks is owed to a variety of habitats where they call home like the grasslands, forests, swamps, water, shrubs and so much more.
Some of the Uganda game parks include Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo valley National park and Lake Mburo National Park.
A few of the animals you may spot during Uganda safari include: lions, herds of elephants, herds of buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, leopards, zebras, elands, impalas, giraffes to mention but a few.

White Water Rafting In Uganda
The River Nile has several interesting spots like Itanda where you can do white water rafting. During white water rafting, you sail though different levels of tides and each level the currency of the water changes. You can stop where you most feel comfortable.
During this white water rafting, you sail on a tube boat and peddle through the River Nile waters.
Launch Trips In Uganda Safari
While on Uganda safari, you can get on a launch trip but the most famous is the Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park launch.
On the Murchison falls National Park launch, you sail on river Nile to the point where this longest rover in the world squeezes through a 6 meters wide bend. Along the way, you get to enjoy riverine animals like hippos, crocodiles and so many others. Along the Nile banks, you can spot several animals that move down to quench thirst like lions, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, giraffes that move to the banks to quench thirst.
A plethora of water birds love feeding from the banks of River Nile. As you draw closer to the falls, you suddenly hear roaring sounds of water as it squeezes through the narrow gorge to cascade down the 43 meters high cliff. When Murchison fall finally comes into view, you may shiver as you sweat at a glance. The falls sparkle on a clear day and a rainbow can easily form right before your eyes.
To get right to the actual point where the River Nile picks its momentum before squeezing through the narrow gorge, you need to hike to the top of the falls. As this is not for the faint hearted, from here you get a clearer view of river Nile rumbling over a bed of rocks and push though this gorge. This River Nile draw is started in about 80 kilometers. The Murchison falls was named by Sir Samuel Baker as the most interesting point of the entire Nile course and indeed this cannot be doubted.
Launch trip on Kazinga Channel on Queen Elizabeth National Park
One of the relaxing and interesting activities in queen Elizabeth National park is a launch trip on Kazinga channel. The channel acts as a link between Lake George and Lake Edward. Its water is a habitat to several crocodiles and hippos. When you look over at the banks, you may spot a variety of animals that move down to quench thirst while other take a bath.
You cannot miss-out on the plethora of birds that grace there shoreline of this channel including foreign migrants. Since the channel is at the floor of the rift valley, there is a lot to spot that you may not see while on land. Even the beautiful Rwenzori ranges stand up and on a clear day you may see the snowcapped top.
Golden Monkey Trekking In Uganda
Within Mgahinga National Park, primatologists have an opportunity to spend some time with the golden monkeys. These charming monkeys have a larger body compared to normal monkeys. They have golden brown hairs. In the entire world, about 2000 to 4000 golden monkey surviving at the moment.
You must have a golden monkey trekking permit or golden monkey habituation permit to have chance with these charming monkeys. Although they are habituated, they still posses there natural traits.
