Jinja is one of the old towns of Uganda and was the industrial city during the colonial era. It has very old structures and the oldest hydro Dam in Uganda called Owen falls dam. Visit the Ssezibwa Falls
On the way to Jinja Town, you may enjoy a stopover at Ssezibwa Falls. These amazing falls are believed to have been born of a woman and several spiritual ritual practices are performed here. Several caves surround the site, a walk through the forest and enjoy the view of the falls from the top is amazing. The river tumbles over rocks and cascade into a pool beneath to continue with its course.
The compound surrounding these falls is filled with natural trees that contribute to the freshness of area. Whether you want to enjoy a picnic, be part of traditional ceremonies, Ssezibwa is worth a visit.
Visit The Mabira Natural Forest
As you head to Jinja, you will be driven through the largest Natural forest in Uganda. A walk through the forest gives you chance to enjoy several birds, monkeys like the black and white colobus, vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, antelopes and so much more that the forest shelters.
The source of the River Nile is situated in Jinja and this is one of the most interesting points of this visit. You have to sail to the actual location where Lake Victoria water separates from River Nile water. The drama surrounding this point is amazing as water creates a visible separation between the lake water and River water. As you sails, you will also enjoy the view of the features on the River banks including human activity.
Take part in white Water rafting in Buikwe. This adrenaline stimulating activity is fantastic as you beat the water tides. White water rafting is done according to stages and it is up to you to suggest your preference. Family water rafting can also be done.

Visit the Busoga Kingdom In Bugembe
Jinja is within Busoga kingdom so in case you would love to learn about the norms of Basoga, you may pay a visit to Busoga palace in Bugembe. Enjoy there historical past and take part in some of their traditional dances where men twist there wests in. This is followed by interesting folk songs that are performed in the local style. Visit Jinja sailing club
