Bwindi impenetrable National Park is an ancient natural forested park and a biosphere reserve. This forest is part of the Virunga area which is home for the mountain gorillas and a variety of fauna and flora. The forest is also rich with different bird species including Albertine rift endemics of which about seven are on the IUCN red list.  Botanist have so much to identity from Bwindi forest species that are unique to this forest and are believed to have survived the arid ice age period.
