Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is the leading home of the carnivores in Uganda Situated in the north Eastern corner of Uganda is Kidepo Valley National Park with semi-arid climate. The park hosts some of the exciting populations of wild animals including carnivores some of which include lions, impalas, waterbucks, elephants, caracals, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, reedbucks, Klipspringers, bushbucks and others. More than 77 mammals are registered as inhabitants of Kidepo Valley National Park.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
The carnivores in Queen Elizabeth National Park are outstanding include tree climbing lions that live in the southern sector of the park called Ishasha sector. Sometimes these lions are spend time in the fig trees of ishasha sector. During the game drive in the eastern part of Mweya in Queen Elizabeth National Park the Kasenyi grassland track may offer better chances seeing the lion prides in action as they prey on the resident Uganda kobs.
Other than the lions, Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to hyenas, viper snakes, shy leopards, elephants, herds of buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, mongoose, topis and others. Queen Elizabeth National Park is locate on the floor of the Albertine rift valley with a backdrop of the Rwenzori massif, which has Magheritah as its heights peak at 5100 meters above sea level. The rift valley bounding escarpments, Lake Edward and George, surrounds the park.
During the launch trip on Kazinga channel of Queen Elizabeth National Park, you get to spot a number of animals that often make there way to the shoreline to quench thirst and take a bath. Serried crocodiles and schools of hippos are usual suspects in the Kazinga channel waters.

Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is situated a stride River Nile with a healthy population of over 76 mammals inclusive carnivores like lions prides, leopards, hyenas, vipers and more. Other resident animals of Murchison Falls National Park include giraffes, herds of buffaloes, hartebeest, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks and others. When you follow the Buligi trail of Murchison National Park during the game drive, you may the chance to witness engaged lion prides as they grab a meal for the day.
The launch trip to the majestic Murchison Falls is the highlight of the safari to this park. Murchison Falls is the strongest part of River Nile where the river furiously pushes through the narrow bend and bursts out to foam a cloudy appearance. On the way, you by pass an impressive population of hippos, watch out for several animals that move down to quench thirst. The Murchison falls are the most impressive as you watch the River Nile water stagger over the rocks and burst out vigorously then cascade the 43 meters high cliff.
A hike to the top pf the fall is the most dramatic as you get to witness where the Murchison Falls drama is rehearsed from the 80 kilometers long stretch where the river staggers over a bed of rocks.

Lake Mburo National Park
Even though known to host mainly herbivores, there has been evidence of carnivore like lions, leopards being spotted in Lake Mburo National Park. During the game drive on the tracks within the park, you may also spot impalas, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, herds of elephants, waterbucks, reedbucks bushbucks elands and others.
The salt lick are in Lake Mburo National Park is the congregation spot for a number of wild animals that enjoy the taste of the soil in this area.
The boat ride on lake Mburo provides an incredible view of the park, its lush vegetation, a plethora of birds that flock the shoreline and much more. You may get chance to spot fishermen casting there nets but this is made on arrangements with the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Mountain Gorillas are the highlight of a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. At the moment, about 19 gorilla trekking families are open to the public in Bwindi some include Rushegura, Bitukura, Mubare, Nshongi, Bweza, Mishaya, Nkuringo and others.
When booking the gorilla trekking permit for Bwindi, they are reserved according to four areas under which these gorilla families are found these include Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo. During gorilla trekking safari, maximum one hour is allowed with a fully habituated gorilla family
Other than gorilla trekking in Bwindi, Gorilla Habituation experience is available in the southern part of the park with so far four gorilla families open to the public. Gorilla habituation experience maximum four hours are allowed with the semi-habituated mountain gorillas.
Apart from the mountain gorillas, Bwindi forest is home to other primates including black and white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkeys, olive baboons, l’hoest and others. More than 350 bird species have been discovered as residents of Bwindi forest including the Albertine rift endemics. Some of eth birds of Bwindi forest include Handsome Francolin, Rwenzori turaco, Shelley’s Crimsonwing, Dusky’s Crimsonwing and others.
Mgahinga National Park
Mgahinga National Park is famously known for hosting the mountain gorillas. This is the smallest Uganda National Park but home to a number of primates including olive baboons, grey cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkeys and others.
During gorilla trekking there is so far one gorilla family open for this adventure so far in Mgahinga National Park and this is called Nyakagezi. During the search for the mountain gorillas, some of the other forest inhabitants you encounter forest elephants, giant forest hogs and others. More than 115 bird species have been confirmed as residents of Mgahinga forest including Albertine rift endemics.
Kibale National Park
Chimpanzee trekking is the main activity of Kibale National Park which is a tropical rain forest in western Uganda. At the moment about 1500 chimpanzees are inhabitants of Kibale forest from the over 5000 chimpanzees that live in Uganda. You must obtain a chimpanzee permit from the Uganda Wildlife Authority to enjoy this experience.
Chimpanzee habituation experience is another encounter with the chimpanzees of Kibale National Park where tourist have four hours with the semi-habituated community. Only for tourists are allowed to accompany the team of researchers. To confirm the chimpanzee habituation experience safari, you need a chimpanzee habituation permit.
Other than the chimpanzees, more 12 primate species have been recorded as residents of Kibale National Park including L’hoest, blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, bush babies, pottos and others. More than 325 bird species are residents of Kibale forest including Albertine rift endemics.
Sometimes the wild animals cross from Queen Elizabeth National Park into Kibale National Park via the 180 kilometers long migration corridor. During the search for the chimpanzees in Kibale forest, you may encounter animals including forest elephants, giant forest hogs, solitary buffaloes and others.
Rwenzori National Park
Rwenzori National Park is on at the base of Mountain Rwenzori where some wild animals may be spotted including forest elephants, giant forest hogs, buffaloes may be seen. The Mountain Rwenzori is the highest mountain in Uganda with Magheritah at its highest peak at 5100 meters above sea level and it is snowcapped all year.
The Rwenzori National Park is a montane wonderland, the trails to the snow peaks following glacier carved valleys filled with fantastically colored mosses and rare afro alpine plants that include giant forms of lobelia, heather and groundsels.
Semliki National Park
Semliki National Park is one of the few naturally thriving forests in African, home to a number of primates including chimpanzees, blue monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, De Brazaa, Dent Mona monkeys, red colobus monkeys and much more. A number of birds are residents of this park including Albertine rift endemics and others some of the birds of Semukili National Park include shining blue kingfisher, black dwarf hornbill, Nkulengu rare and yellow throated nicator and others.
Mountain Elgon National Park
At the base of Mountain Elgon is Mountain Elgon National Park where some wild animals live. During the walk around the mountain Elgon, you may spot animals including elephants, buffaloes and others. A number of birds flock the park premises.
A tour at Mountain Elgon National Park is an ideal setting for both short and extended hikes. To traverse the forest you explore central part of the park at Kapkwai offers half day and full day. The highest summit of the Mountain Elgon is at 4331 meters above sea level.
Ngamba Island chimpanzee Sanctuary
Ngamba island chimpanzees sanctuary is home to the chimpanzees that have been rescued from snares, abandoned by there communities, orphaned and cannot get back to there families. During the visit to the Ngamba Chimpanzee sanctuary, you may engage in chimpanzee up-close, view the chimpanzees from the view platform.
