How to get to and What Is The Distance From Kampala To Budongo Forest

From Kampala, the distance to Budongo forest is about 223 kilometers and drive time is about 5 to 6 hours. Budongo forest is situated in northwestern Uganda on the escarpments of northeastern part of Lake Albert. From Kampala, Budongo forest is situated along the road to Murchison Falls National Park.

Scheduled domestic flights from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Pakuba or Bugungu airstrip but you need to hire  a transfer vehicle.

To get to Kaniyo Pabidi forest which is another chimpanzee trekking destination in Murchison Falls National Park, the distance from northern Kampala is about 240 Kilometers and Entebbe to Kaniyo Pabidi is about 280 Kilometers

What Is The Age Limit For Chimpanzee Trekking In Budongo Forest

12 years and beyond is the age limit for chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest. Chimpanzee trekking safaris include moving in the forest where chimpanzees are free to move and locating time is hard to determine. The children below this age may not get the opportunity to move freely in the forest.
