DAY 1 – Sail to Ngamba Chimpanzee Island


Early in the morning our driver guide will drive you to the pier at Entebbe to sail to Ngamba Chimpanzee Island. This is home to the rescued, abandoned, wounded chimpanzees. They live in the forest that makes a home similar to the forest cover where they naturally live. Participant in feeding them from the platform.

Spend your morning time in there company and return to the land for an incredible walk through the Entebbe zoo where you meet other animals that you may not have a chance to see while you trek to see the mountain gorillas.

DAY 2 – Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park


After breakfast, our driver guide will pick you early in the morning from your overnight hotel and proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park. Enjoy a stopover at the equator to perform the water experiment and take photos standing on both sides of the earth at the same time.

This gorilla trekking safari starts with an early morning drive to Bwindi forest national Park.  Although the journey is quite long, it’s absolutely memorable as you spot wonderful scenery such as incredible highlands like the Rwenzori ranges, green forest cover, incredible birds, meandering rivers on the valleys of highlands and so much more enroute.

As you get closer to the renowned Bwindi Forest National park, you will notice a change in vegetation cover as it thickens and a lot of forest cover is evident. This is home to the Mountain gorillas that are considered by UNESCO as one of few survivors of the ice age period.

The forest is very thick with tall trees that form a very dense canopy at the top. Enjoy your lunch enroute and carry on passing the rolling hills of Kisoro. Arrive late in the evening and enjoy your dinner and overnight at:

DAY 3 – Gorilla tracking


Finally the long awaited gorilla trekking day starts with an early morning breakfast, carry on to the ranger station for briefing not forgetting your packed lunch. To safe guard your skin dress up in long trousers because there are biting nettles in the forest.

Head to the ranger station for briefing by the Uganda wildlife Authority ranger guide who will later escort you into the forest to start look for the vegetarian black furred mountain gorillas.

The time of finding the mountain gorillas may be between 2 hours to about 8 hours depending on there mobility. these apes is not definite, the walk is rewarding as you may have an opportunity to meet other primates  like baboons, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey tailed mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys the list is endless.

In case you saw the gorillas early and returned, you can may request for a tour to Bwindi community hospital or a visit to Batwa land in case you are not tired. These are pygmies whose life full depended on Bwindi forest for survival till the early 90s when conservation of the mountain gorilla habitat by the government became reason to relocate them. To protect some of their leftover cultural activities, they demonstrate there ancient life to there visitors through telling amazing stories and unique traditional performances. Move back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – Depart to catch up with your flight After Gorilla Tracking


After enjoying your moment with the mountain gorillas, drive to Entebbe Airport to catch up with your flight back.

A waterproofed backpack is vital for your camera because it may rain at any time without warning, water bottle to quench your thirst as you trek to see the mountain gorillas and snacks.

If not sure of your fitness, you may hire a porter for a small fee to carry your backpack and help you up the steeper slopes.
