4 Day Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda And Kigali City Tour

DAY 2 – Gorilla Trekking

Taking your gorilla trekking gears walk to the ranger station for briefing where you will be allocated into groups of 8 and later in the company of a guide proceed to the forest. Gorilla trekking is an incredible safari that tests your patience as the mountain gorillas keep moving in search for food.

On top of this, you may have the chance of meeting other primates like grey checked mangabey, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys to mention but a few. For birders, this trip is a double blessing for you to spot the albertine endemics.

As you draw closer to the gorillas, try to lower your voices and stay closer to the ranger guide as he has to observe the mood of the gorilla family before allowing you to have some moment with them.

The first sight of the sheer size of dark hairy bodies of the mountain gorillas may stimulate your adrenaline but controlling yourself will make this trek a success. Watch the family go on with the day today activities and take photos.

Try not to touch the infants as they are keenly watched over by the entire family. After an hour, return back to the lodge carrying only memories of the fantastic encounter.

DAY 3 – Golden Monkey /Visit the Diane Fossey Grave

Early in the morning, embark on the journey to search for the rare golden monkeys. This is a very special specie of monkeys found just in very few forests in the world. You may also opt for a trek to the Diane Fossey grave the historical American Biologist who was brutally murdered for conserving the mountain gorillas.

She laid down her life for the survival of mountain gorillas that each body is currently enjoying to visit. Return to the lodge and relax.

DAY 4 – Kigali City Tour

Kigali is a very interesting African city to visit as it is bordered by a series of highlands and one if the cleanest African cities.

During this tour, you may have the opportunity to visit the genocide memorial where some of the remains of the victim of the 1994 Rwanda genocide are reserved.

Take some moments and listen to the story of Rwanda, later visit some of the families of the survivors of this inhuman war where parents were separated from there children, brutal murders were done. The progress of Rwanda is so mesmerizing as of today.

Take a tour through the town and drive to Kigali Airport to catch up with your flight back home.
